Layouts uploaded to the gallery at Scrapbook-Bytes must be under 125kb in jpg format. Unfortunately the type of compression can sometimes distort the images. Below is the easiest and quickest way to ensure your layouts can be uploaded.


Firstly ensure you have a saved your layout in the native/ default format of png plus!
Have your layout open in the workspace. My default image size is always set at 300dpi. If yours is not you may wish to change it to reduce the effects of the compression when you save it as a jpg. You can do this by going to Format>Resize Image> and ensure the resolution is at 300dpi
** For a 12 x 12 layout you will need to reduce the physical size of the layout as well. Format>Resize Image>Image Size and adjust the Image size to 8x8. 12x12 requires a large amount of compression. If you scrap at 8x8, 6x6, 8x10 or 8.5x11 this step is not necessary.

Now select File>Save a copy for > Save a copy for web or email…
Choose Medium Web View this will automatically set the default pixel size which you can adjust manually if desired.



By default DIP9 saves in a folder under My Pictures called Email or Web. You can choose to browse to another folder if you wish. DIP9 will also add medium Web View onto your file name. It is important that your file names contain no spaces so rename your file as desired with no spaces in the file name.


Click Options to change the compression factor of the file to get the best results with minimum distortion. Move the slider to 100:Higher Quality Larger File. Be aware this will then be the default for any jpg image you save so if necessary you may have to change it for other projects. Click OK and then Save. DIP 9 will automatically open the Email or Web folder when the file is saved. You can simply close it if not needed.
