PROGRAM BASIC: Add a Shape to Custom Shapes

As Easter approaches, so does the search for the perfect egg shape with which to make graphics with.  PhotoImpact’s custom shapes don’t have an egg, but they have something pretty close that can be altered.  And instead of having to redo this each time you create a new graphic, you can easily add this to your custom shapes.

Brush Tip 3 is pretty close, but just a bit too long and narrow for the egg shape that I want, so I will first choose this option, draw it out, and then make the following adjustment.

With the Transformation tool, pull the bottom of the egg up until it’s at the shape you want it to be.  Now, if you want to add this to your custom shapes, you use the following commands.

With the egg shape still selected, choose Object/Copy to Object Library and you will get the window shown below.

Give the shape a name, and use these settings to put this in your custom shapes.  Choose OK.  Now you will be able to access your custom shape along with the other shapes that come with PhotoImpact.  Just choose the shape, click OK, and it’s ready to use!
