This tutorial shows you how to create your own dotted circle for use in Digital Image Pro V 10. This tutorial can also apply in DIP v 7 and 9.

Create a blank Canvas. I have just used the default of 6x4inches.

Insert> Shape> Circle. Enlarge and position on page.

Fill the shape with a colour of choice using either the paint can to select a color or by using  Effects>Fill with color or texture.

<img border="0"

Remove the outside line

Now insert a square Insert> Shape> Square and resize to cover the circle.

Now remove the line from this square.

Then select the paint bucket icon and choose No fill. This leaves you with essentially a transparent area defined only by the selection handles.

Ensure this area is covering the circle with generous margins on all sides.

Make sure this top transparent layer is selected.

Choose Effects> Paintbrush > Stamps

Select Stamping style: Shape

Select Shape: circle

Choose 50 as the stamp size.

Move your cursor over to your workspace. Position the circle carefully on the circle edge by ensuring the crosshair of the cursor is on the rim.

Click to stamp. Repeat this step ensuring that the cursor crosshair is always positioned on the rim of the circle. You will need to use your eye to maintain a similar distance between stamps. Use Undo if you make an error.

When you are finished choose Done.

Your dotted circle will be on its own layer.

Delete the blue circle.

Select the dots.

Choose Format> Resize canvas> AutoFit Canvas to selected Object.

You may wish to change the color of the dots before saving. You can use Effects> Fill with color or texture and select any color. Save this file File> Save As…

Duplicate this project. Edit > Duplicate project.

Close the original file.

With your duplicate project open choose Effects> Paintbrush > Stamps.

Choose Make a Stamp

Choose Open a picture

Browse to find the dotted circle file you saved.

Select and choose Ok

Select the first Stamping Style.

Click on the arrow for Select a Stamp. Your new dotted circle brush should appear at the end of the picture options.

Select a size for your stamp and stamp on your page.

You can use this stamp at any time for your projects. Simply use Effects> Fill with color or texture to change the color.
