1. Open your photo. File > Open.
2. Make a duplicate of your photo
(always apply photo editing to duplicates and not the originals.) Window >
Duplicate. Go back to the original photo and close it. Return to your
duplicated photo.
3. Change the photo’s tinting by
going to Adjust > Hue and Saturation > Colorize.
4. Begin experimenting with
different hue and saturation values. Use lower saturation values for a softer,
subtle look. Higher saturation values will produce a more intense look.
5. Following are some examples of
various settings.
Hue: 32, Saturation: 65
Hue: 0, Saturation: 200
Hue: 194, Saturation: 73
Hue: 133, Saturation: 170
6. As you can see from the examples
above, there are many combinations available. You can also use the Randomize
Parameters button (looks like a die)
in the Colorize window and keep clicking
until you see something you like (be sure to save your favorite parameters for
future reference by clicking the save button
in the Colorize window and naming
the preset.)
