Tip: This works great when you're working on one of site's Color Challenges! You can create custom color swatches and always have those colors available in your Swatches palette!
- Select the color you want to save as your foreground color.

- In the blank space on your Swatches palette, click the right or left mouse button.
- A box pops up and allows you to preview your color and name it. Click ok.

- Your new swatch is saved as the last color in the current swatch scheme.

If you want to create your own set of swatches to load again and again:
- You must start with an empty swatch scheme. I haven't figured out an easy way to do this, so you have to select your default swatches and delete each one individually by right-clicking on each and choosing delete.
- When you have an empty palette, you can start to add your swatches. Follow the instructions above and add as many swatches as you want. Remember you can save these swatches as a scheme, and you can have as many as you want! I have my favorite warm tones, spring colors, etc.
- When you've added all of the swatches you want to save together, click the More button on the palette and choose Save Swatches.
- Name your swatch scheme. You'll automatically be prompted to save in the Color Swatches folder – leave it there.
- When you want to load your saved swatches, click the More button on the palette and choose Replace Swatches. Then browse to your Color Swatches folder (Program Files>Adobe>Photoshop Elements 2>Presets>Color Swatches) and select your saved file.
