- First - make sure that you have you layers palette turned on
- edit > toolbars > checkmark layers palette.
- Next, take a picture that you want to use as your main background
for the page. Mine is below.

- Next set the size of the scrapbook page you will be doing...
(File > New > etc.)
- Next go back to your chosen background image photo and edit
> copy
- Go back now to your new scrapbook page you will be inserting
the background into... and Edit > > paste as new layer..
name your layer "background"
- Next - if you photo doesn't fill up the page - you will need
to use the deformation tool
.
If you use a full sized digital photo to start with you will not
really need to do this too much - just a tad.
Sample deformation:

- Next locate the layer "background" and in the layers
palette press the arrow in the layers palette and decrease the
opacity to your liking.. I decrease mine to 43% (as indicated
within the red circled area)

- You then just scrapbook your computer layout the same (copy
and pasting images and journaling right on top of it - creating
a new raster layer for everything you enter... *keep everything
in it's own layers in case you want to delete something before
you are done..)... Fonts I ALWAYS do in vector - antialias - you
can easily edit the text later this way if you need to..)
- Below is my final version of this tutorial after adding photos,
journaling, and drop shadows:
