This tutorial should also work as well in Photoshop CS and Photoshop Elements
How to Save your Layout/Photo A reduced size of the original layout is needed in order to upload to the Scrapbook-Bytes website. To do this for the PC version of Photoshop 7:
- Select Image , Image Size . Check the Constrain Proportions checkbox, this will verify when you resize either your width or height, your layout will remain the same shape. Go down to Resolution and set this to 72 dpi (dots per inch). Now, set your Pixel Dimensions to no larger than 500 pixels. Select OK .

- Select File , Save As . Name this reduced-size layout (or web copy) and save it as a JPEG. ( NOTE : Do not name this reduced version the same as the original, try originalname_copy.jpeg, originalname_web.jpeg, or originalname_sbb.jpeg). Remember do not add spaces in the file name.
- You should now see the JPEG options. Under Image Options , Quality , reduce the quality number by moving the slider to the left. Note at the bottom of this JPEG Options box, the size should change. The file size should be no larger than 125K.
- Baseline “Standard” should be selected in Format Options.
NOTE : If your reduced-size layout is still not under 125K, try resizing it to below 500 pixels and/or reduce JPEG quality. How to Upload to the Gallery From the Scrapbook-Bytes homepage, select Gallery (or use this link http://www.scrapbook-bytes.com/gallery/ ) . Now select Upload Images . You should see the following except for your Username and Disk space sizes:

- Choose a category . This will default to the Scrapbook Members Gallery. If you want your layout placed into another category, select the appropriate one. No matter which gallery you choose, your layout/photo will also be in the Scrapbook Members Gallery for everyone to enjoy.
- Photo to Upload . Click the Browse button and your computer files should appear. Find your layout (remember under 125K) and double click it so it will appear in the box. You may add up to five layouts/photos at a time, just be sure each one is under 125K.
- URL of page to parse images from: If you want to upload your image from another webpage, use this option.
- Disk space allowed on your account is 50,000KB. This is helpful information so you know how many layouts/photos you may upload to the galleries.
- Disk space used on your account is how much of Scrapbook Byte's server memory you have used.
- Disk space remaining for your account is the total space allowed minus your used space. In other words, how much you have left.
- Want to be notified by email when users post replies? Choose “yes” to receive emails or “no” and you will not receive emails when someone posts a comment regarding your layout/photo.
- Now click on the Upload/Submit button when you have answered all the above questions. At this time, your layout/photo will be uploaded. This may take several minutes. After your layout(s) have been uploaded this is what you should see next:

- Your layout/image should be featured in the left-hand column.
- Add? Leave these boxes checked or uncheck them if you do not wish to finish the upload.
- Category - You may select the Category if you have changed your mind, otherwise this will default to what you chose previously.
- Title - Add a name to your layout or photo.
- Description - Write an explanation of your layout or photos. Be sure to include credit where credit is due (elements created by ….), fonts used, journaling if you wish, etc.
- Keywords - this box will automatically fill in for you upon processing, so you don't have to worry about it
- Click Process Files and you're done! If you would like to verify your image was uploaded, click on My Gallery .
