Often when reading the forums, I want to refer to a post I have made previously or look for information about a topic to see if it has been discussed before. Fortunately it is possible to search the forums at scrapbook-bytes to look for specific posts with certain search parameters.
The first thing that is useful to search for are new posts . The menu bar on the top of the forums contains a link to the new posts that have appeared since your last visit to the forums.

If you want to search for specific words used in posts, then use the Search beside the New Posts link.

Type in your search term and click on the Go button. All posts featuring that search term will be returned.
Perhaps you have two or more search terms you want to use. You can type them in the same search box separated by AND or OR. AND between the search terms will search for all posts containing both search terms. OR between the terms will search for all posts containing either term. For example:
photoimpact AND printing
photoimpact OR photoshop
For a more specific search, click on Advanced Search under the search forums window. This will open a window where you can enter some more specific search parameters.

Here you can search for posts by specific users and in specific forums. You can also narrow your search by choosing certain dates. This can help find posts quicker than just using search terms.
