Hi there! My name is Pattie Knox (aka: ptknox) and I am an addict. <grin> Addicted to digital scrapbooking that is! I am employed by our local school district as a Technology Support Specialist and during my Summer Break this year I began investigating ways to print my journaling directly onto my layouts. I couldn't believe my own eyes when I found this site and saw that people were creating complete layouts with their computers. Better yet, I couldn't tell any difference between most of these digital layouts and the photos of paper scrapped layouts I saw in the magazines. I was already familiar with Adobe Photoshop CS from my work with web design so the transition to digital scrapping was really quite easy for me. By the end of July I found myself sitting down at the computer first thing in the morning “just to check my mail” and dashing up the stairs around 5:30 p.m. to hurry up and shower so my hubby didn't find me still sitting at the computer in my jammies!
Speaking of said husband, I'm fortunate to have been married to my best friend for 27 years now. We are both originally from the Finger Lakes region in Upstate New York, but have been Ohio residents for 22 years now. We have two grown children. David is an Assistant Brand Manager for Procter & Gamble in Cincinnati, Ohio. Our daughter, Tiffany, is a student at Kent State University majoring in education. Our family wouldn't be complete without Zoe, our goofy, rambunctious (but lovable) Black Lab, and one snotty cat named Tyrone who is a real “Mamma's Boy” and doesn't talk to anybody but me.
I can't begin to tell you how absolutely thrilled I was to have the very first digital layout I ever created published recently in Creating Keepsakes “Special Issue” as one of the “Top Ten New Faces.” (Page 40 is permanently crumpled as I keep opening it up to make sure it really IS my layout in there! <smile>) I'm eagerly awaiting the release of Simple Scrapbooks” Digital Scrapbooking 3 as four of my layouts were accepted for publication along with layouts from many, many talented scrappers here at SBB.
The friendships I have developed here at SBB have been an unexpected side bonus to digital scrapping. I love this community and the people in it!
