My name is Shelleyrae Cusbert and I live just out of Sydney in Australia. My husband and I are parents to two gorgeous daughters, Simariah Jade born in 1996 and Aleah Grace born 2003 and a new baby boy born 2004.
I am a qualified early childhood teacher working full time as a home daycare provider and involved in several related organisations on various levels.
I enjoy reading almost everything, aqua aerobics and I am trying to learn more about photography to improve my skills and my scrapping.
I began computer scrapping around 5 years ago when my parents moved overseas. I regularly emailed them photos of my daughter and at some point began to "decorate" them using PictureIt!99. It wasn't until about 3 years ago that I stumbled across a traditional scrapbooking website and thought 'oh that's what I do only with the computer' and began searching around for other sites. A few months later the first Australian scrapbook store opened up near me so I attended a beginners class but discovered it was not for me. I joined SBB as a DTM at its launch.
I have tried various software programs over the years but have always returned to MSPictureIt! products. Despite its critics I find it an ideal program as its easy to use and if you take the time to explore it you can do much more than it was designed for. I am currently using MS Digital Image Pro 9.0 Suite which is the latest of the PictureIt! products. I have also had experience with PictureIt!99, PictureIT!2000, PictureIt!2001,PictureIt! Publishing Platinum 2002, and MS Digital Image Pro 7. I am a PC user with two HP systems.
My camera of choice is a digital Nikon 5700. I no longer have film camera.
My style could best be described as eclectic, I like to experiment with styles that are inspired by traditional layouts as well as those considered to be more graphic arts driven. My best tip is simply to play with your program - try everything and anything, don't be afraid of your program you can always undo or delete and you never know what you can achieve until you try!
